FaceFX®
Our Native format and its Options

FaceFX® is our primary animation tool. Our FaceFX output is available in either the native ".facefx" file format, which contains all the animation data for a specific character, or as individual Anim Set files, broken down by Animation Groups.

Although FaceFX provides the ability to preview animations via the FaceFX Studio Preview feature, at FacePro we require all customers to use REV during animation development - this allows us to manage the animation development process more effectively, including REV's automated revision tracking and notification. Final output is in .facefx or animset formats, depending on your internal workflow needs.

 

Q: Do I have to be a FaceFX Licensee to have FacePro create FaceFX-format animation output for my project?

A: Although most of our FaceFX customers are licensed developers using the FaceFX SDK in their game engine, the creators of FaceFX, OC3 Entertainment, have recently announced that the FaceFX Studio toolset is now available as a Standalone version, enabling single users (or developers who don't need the FaceFX engine SDK) to use FaceFX Standalone as a development tool. We create production FaceFX animation for everyone, including both Licensee and Standalone FaceFX developers.

Q: Does FacePro provide any FaceFX support or training, for either Licensee or Standalone FaceFX developers?

A: Not at this time.

Q: What versions of FaceFX do you create output for?

A: We can create animation for any FaceFX developer, even those Licensees who may be using older versions of FaceFX.
